A filter is a device that removes particles from a given liquid or gas -it includes a disposable medium for removing fine particles of specified micron sizes. A strainer is also a filter. However, it uses a perforated tube or screen mesh to remove larger particles from a process stream.

Filters and strainers can be used individually or in tandem to remove coarse, medium or fine particles from a process fluid. They are ideal for the dairy, food, beverage, pharmaceutical, cosmetics and similar industrial industries.
