The SuperKlean 150 is really the gold standard spray nozzle of the brewery world - and it deserves it, the SuperKlean 150 is a serious nozzle, it can take high pressures, it's just about indestructible and its design is really pleasant to use. However, after using it the different SuperKlean nozzles for a bit, what surprised us was how much we liked the SuperKlean Duraflow Mini. At barely a quarter the weight of the SuperKlean 150, and with a much smaller size, it's a really nice change after 20 minutes of cleaning.

I could certainly see the solid brass of the SuperKlean 150 being something I’d want in high pressure situations, of course. Given a strong flow (22GPM at the maximun tested pressure of 500 PSI or 12 GPM at 125 PSI) the weight would help stabilize the unit and keep it from kicking up. Of course that weight comes with a trade off: when you've spent 20 minutes hosing down a floor, you feel it.

Apparently, SuperKlean has also recognized this, producing the lighter Duraflow line - lead by the Duraflow GH150S Series. This seems to be their go anywhere do anything line, with neat additions like a front facing hook or a spray wand adapter.

As I mentioned above the 150 series is tested to 500 PSI.  Of course, we rarely see that kind of pressure being used in a washdown capacity, as most of the time city water pressure sits between 40 and 70 psi.  The Duraflow Mini handles that easily and up to  150 PSI, which is plenty for most brewery activities and this, combined with its ~0.7lb weight, is what made the it stand out to us.

SuperKlean really knows how to make a durable product. The Duraflow Mini’s stainless steel interior reveals strong internal connections and outside is very solid rigid case. In the event of a breakage most parts can be replaced easily - the Mini takes only 6 screws to disassemble. The stainless steel interior is a plus for any wash down sitiuuation where an acidic cleaner could oxidize brass.

All in all the Mini has really impressed us, and may become our recommended nozzle for craft industries. It’s a solid unit that weighs very little, can easily be repaired.
