CPEU1 Circumferential Piston Pump Assemblies Custom Build

This is a custom positive displacement pump assembly. We replaced our typical Heavy-Duty Cart with a custom fabricated larger stainless steel pump cart for this circumferential piston pump assembly. 

Circumferential piston pumps are a type of rotary positive displacement pump that utilizes two non-contacting arc-shaped rotary pistons or rotor wings (single wing, twin wing) to propel fluids through its chamber. The rotors closely follow the curve of the pump casing, travelling in annular cylinders. As the rotors rotate, they generate a partial vacuum in the cavity to draw in a fixed volume of fluid from the inlet port and move it to the discharge port. The leading edge of the rotor provides a gentle scooping action of the pumped media, resulting in no squeezing or compacting of the media being pumped. The rotors are driven by a rotor hub and timing gears to keep them in perfect synchronization.  

The larger lobe heads (pistons) and the rotor hub result in a longer sealing path between the rotor and the pump body. This reduces slippage, making the pump's dosing accuracy as high as 2-3%. The reduced pressure and velocity between the outer edge of the rotor and the chamber wall also prolong the life of the pump and minimize heat within the pump head.  

Circumferential piston pumps provide a non-pulsating flow with the high suction capacity required for thick mixes to be drawn into the pump without any separation of the ingredients. They handle viscous fluids more precisely than any other type of positive displacement pump. They are also great at handling high pressures, a wide range of viscosities, and products containing trapped air. Circumferential piston pumps are also reversible.
