CB+ Series Internally Sealed Pumps

The CB+Series are C+Pumps featuring a High-Clean internal seal, designed for pumping sugary fluids such as wort or juice. While both pumps feature enhancements to reduce vibration and wear, the CB+ is specifically designed to replace the backplate and seal with an internally sealed design.

Internally sealed pumps are better for sugary substances.

External seals sit behind the pump face and along the shaft. During operation, small amounts of pumped material lubricate the seal surfaces and eventually dry off. Over time, sugar crystals can build up on the external seal's surface when pumping sugary substances.

In internally sealed centrifugal pumps, the seal sits in front of the pump face. Standard operation immerses the seal in the pumped medium, keeping it wet and preventing crystal buildup.  This design ensures longer seal life, but it has a drawback: The springs and cups of a standard internal seal can create tiny gaps and crevices that are difficult to clean in place.

The CB+ uses a High-Clean enclosed cartridge seal that keeps these surfaces away from the pumped medium, for a more hygienic and easier-to-clean pump.
