The Portable Shear Pump Assembly is a sanitary pump and blender in one, breaking up solids in your line and blending lumpy substances.
The shear pump is ideal for smoothly introducing ingredients to liquid products. High shear, particle size reduction to less than 100 microns is possible.
The applications include:
- removing lumps from sauces,
- grinding hops, berries etc.
- blending liquids and solids together
- and mixing a variety of liquids.
In the beer industry, the shear pump is particularly suited to grinding hops. Grinding allows for a greater surface area of hops to be exposed and more oils to be released, resulting in enhanced flavours and aroma. Plus, when the hops are ground less are required to achieve the same flavour profile.
